Finalization of the joint mechanism to address the current situation of Ports, Trade and Markets

The joint mechanism for reviewing the current situation of ports, trade, and markets was finalized in the presence of Mr. Nisar Ahmad Ghoryani, Minister of Industry and Commerce, Deputy Minister of Customs of the Ministry of Finance, and representatives of the Federation of Afghanistan Chambers Federation, Sector Chambers and representatives of various private sectors.

Mr. Nisar Ahmad Ghoryani, Minister of Industry and Commerce, at the beginning of the final meeting of the mechanism said, the purpose of this project in the current situation is to cooperate with the private sector to provide primary materials needed by citizens throughout Afghanistan.

Mr. Ghoryani added, the plan envisages all the challenges and solutions on how we can provide the primary materials needed by the citizens with the joint cooperation of the government and the private sector.

In this meeting, Mr. Khanjan Alokozai, Vice President of the Afghanistan Chambers Federation, and representatives of the private sector welcomed the preparation of the plan and said, in the current situation, the private sector is a partner of government institutions and we all work together to provide primary materials needed by citizens.

On the other hand, Mr. Alam Shah Haidari, Deputy Minister of Revenue and Customs of the Ministry of Finance, said, the Ministry of Finance, in close cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the private sector, will provide the necessary facilities to increase imports and exports.

This mechanism is prepared by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce in cooperation with the Ministries of Finance, Economy, Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, and the private sector to manage and address the current situation of ports, trade, and markets and supply primary materials throughout Afghanistan.

The project is to be contributed by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce with the participation of representatives of various private sectors with His Excellency Dr. Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
