Afghanistan towards self-sufficiency in Iron Production

Mr. Nisar Ahmad Ghoryani, Minister of Industry and Commerce visited Sadat Hofyani Iron and Steel Factory, discussed the opportunities and challenges.

The Minister of Industry and Commerce was accompanied by Mr. Shirbaz Kaminzadah, General Director of the Afghanistan Chamber of Industries and Mines, industrialists, and factory owners in Pul-e-Charkhi Industrial Park.

Mr. Ghoryani said, the purpose of this visit is to receive information about the challenges and production capacity of this plant and to provide more support from the government.

Representatives of the private sector who attended the visit said, soon, Afghanistan will be self-sufficient in the production of various types of hardware, iron, and steel sector.

Sadat Hofyani Steel Factory started its activity in this sector in 2015, produces various types of iron and supplies it in the markets of the country, and exports it to Pakistan.
